Privacy policy

Ishizuka Corporation ("the Company") complies with the laws, regulations and guidelines governing the protection of personal information. We ensure that all of our officers and employees understand the importance of protecting personal information, and we have established the following privacy policy ("this Policy") to that end.

Article 1 (Personal information)

"Personal information" means information relating to a living individual that can identify that individual by the name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, place of work or other description contained in it. It includes information that can readily be cross-referenced with other information and thereby identify a specific individual.

Article 2 (Purposes of collection and use)

The Company collects and uses personal information for the following purposes.

(1) To respond to enquiries
(2) To consider, negotiate, conclude and perform business transactions
(3) To carry out procedures required for purchasing, import and export, and other operations
(4) To manage our business relationships
(5) To send information about the Company's business
(6) Purposes incidental to those set out above

Article 3 (Security measures)

The Company takes the measures necessary to prevent the leakage, loss or damage of the information it collects and otherwise to manage that information appropriately. An outline of those measures follows.

(1) Establishing a basic policy and rules governing the handling of personal information
(2) Appointing a person responsible for personal information and establishing reporting lines
(3) Obtaining confidentiality undertakings regarding personal information from employees, including contractors
(4) Taking measures to prevent the theft or loss of equipment used to handle personal information
(5) Specifying the equipment and the persons authorised to handle personal information, and preventing unnecessary access
(6) Installing security software on equipment used to handle personal information

Article 4 (Provision to third parties)

1. The Company will not provide personal information it has obtained to a third party without the prior consent of the individual, except in the following cases.

(1) Where required by law
(2) Where necessary to protect the life, body or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain the individual's consent
(3) Where particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children and it is difficult to obtain the individual's consent
(4) Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government body, or a party entrusted by one, in carrying out duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the individual's consent would impede those duties
(5) Where an exception to the restriction on provision to third parties is otherwise permitted by law

2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the recipient is not deemed a third party in the following cases.

(1) Where personal information is provided in connection with the outsourcing, in whole or in part, of its handling within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
(2) Where personal information is provided in connection with the succession of a business by merger or other cause

Article 5 (Changes to this Policy)

The Company may amend this Policy as required by changes in law or by the needs of its business.

Article 6 (Disclosure, correction and related procedures)

1. In accordance with this Article and the Company's related rules, and to the extent permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, an individual may make the following requests to the Company.

(1) Notification of the purpose of use of their personal information
(2) Disclosure of their personal information or of records of provision to third parties
(3) Correction, addition or deletion of their personal information
(4) Suspension of the use of their personal information
(5) Suspension of the provision of their personal information to third parties

2. When making such a request, please specify which of the above applies and submit documentation for identity verification, such as a driver's licence, health insurance card or copy of a certificate of residence.
